Here's why this is important:

July 6th meeting with AM Marc Berman. Freddie Wheeler, a member of LAR's Steering Committee, was the moderator of this meeting and had the opportunity to question AM Berman extensively about SB9 and SB10.
AM Berman admitted he has not yet studied either bill. His excuse?
Nearly 3000 bills cross his desk every legislative session! If our legislators have too many bills crossing their desks to pay adequate attention to any of them, what does that mean for us, their constituents?
SB9 and SB10 will fundamentally change our single-family neighborhoods. Tell Assemblymember Berman that he should know EXACTLY what SB9 and SB10 will mandate and how they will affect us before he votes on them. And only reading the "fact" sheets written by the bills' authors is hardly the due diligence we expect from him. He should also ask his constituents if they agree with the radical changes SB9 and SB10 will mandate if signed into law. He said he doesn't do outreach about bills. Instead of doing any outreach himself, he said he wants us to send him our comments via his website. Apparently he expects us to read all 3000 bills that cross his desk, learn how they will affect us, and then call his office or email him to let him know our thoughts. Sounds like his job to me!
